The performative and philosophical discourse format Future Now! seeks to question conformities and offer alternatives in times of a proclaimed lack of options. In cooperation with the political and philosophical magazine engagée and depot (Vienna) each time an artist and a theorist will be invited to inquire future in a transdisciplinary setting. The first issue of Future Now! outlines the future of work. We live in a working society, that runs out of work. Smart machines take over our jobs. We are set free to creatively work with signs and emotions. The entrepreneurial self has become the role model; depression and precariousness are its downsides. How can we react socially and politically to these changes? Could a universal basic income guarantee a self-determined life? In cooperation mit Depot (Vienna) and engagée.
