As part of BestOFF, an exhibition and presentation format of the Kunstuni Linz entitled Radical Collective in 2023, in Memphis, two works by students of the Art University Linz will be shown under the title Of Basins and Doors. The exhibition includes positions by Anja Korherr and Catrin Manoli as well as Hasan Ulukisa, which thematically deal with individual as well as collective living spaces and complement each other in their points of reference and fields of content.
Catrin Manoli, a.k.a.Cooky (1997, Austria) graduated from the master class in sculpture and painting at the Ortweinschule in Graz. A failed taxidermist, she virtually lives on the train and studies fine arts in Linz. Noisy sounds are combined with preserved dead animals to create a horror show of confrontation that questions speciesism and our transience as human animals.
Anja Korherr (1998, Austria) is a graduate of the Ortweinschule Graz in sculpture and painting. She is currently studying visual experimental art in Linz. Her focus is on painting, drawing and comics.
Hasan Ulukisa (1994, Turkey) grew up in Linz and completed a technical education at the HTL1 for Construction and Design. While working in the social sector, he found his way to a bachelor's degree in Time-based and Interactive Media Art at the Linz University of the Arts in 2017, which he completed in spring 2023. He currently works in the cultural department of the Linz Chamber of Labour.
