Das Sekretariat für Geister, Archivpolitiken und Lücken was founded in 2012 by Nina Hoechtl and Julia Wieger. In its artistic projects, it draws attention to places, documents, and objects that are largely ignored by the grand narratives of historiography.
This rag is a versatile, sustainable cleaning cloth. 100% organic cotton – 100% reproduction work – 100% preservation and care – 100% art!
SKGAL designed the “Drei Kübel” logo for the project “HOCH DIE LAPPEN” (2022), in which it dealt with, among other things, the image archive of the Arbeiter-Zeitung newspaper. SKGAL replaced the three arrows in the symbol of the workers' movement with cleaning buckets and brooms. The printed rag is a cleaning cloth that focuses on reproductive work, the preservation of our environment, and art! Perhaps in this way, the question of the reproduction of our daily lives can be taken up in the fight against fascism, capitalism, and reaction? After all, who does the cleaning in this struggle? Who cleans up after the uprising? Who maintains the spaces—on the streets, in art spaces, at home? Perhaps this is how the private and individual become public, collective, and political?
10% of the proceeds from sales go to the cleaning staff at Kunstraum Memphis!
