In his works, Rainer Gamsjäger deals structurally with the media of video and photography. He deconstructs image content and breaks down digital images into their smallest units in order to rearrange them using algorithms and bring abstract image content to light. Gamsjäger uses iconic images of actresses from the “Golden Age” of Hollywood cinema, high-resolution landscapes and images from NASA space telescopes as source material.
